South Kedize- Room S135 (Podium) - Quick Reference Guide

Using a laptop computer

  1. Connect the VGA monitor cable (attached to the side of the podium) to the VIDEO OUT port of the laptop.
  2. If desired, attach an ethernet cable (user supplied) from the laptop computer into the ethernet connection (located on the side of the podium near the VGA monitor cable).
  3. If desired, attach an audio cable (user supplied) from the laptop computer into the audio connector (RCA connector located on the side of the podium near the VGA monitor cable).
  4. Using the EPSON remote control, press and hold down the power button for 2 seconds to turn on the projector.
  5. Turn on your laptop computer.
  6. Press the COMP 1/2 button on the remote control. The computer image should now be visible on the projection screen. If you don't see your computer image check to make sure that your external video port on your laptop has been activated. In order to activate the external video port you may have to press a set of keyboard keys on your laptop. For example, on all Dell laptops you hold down the "FN" and "F8" keys.
  7. If using audio from the laptop, adjust the volume controls on the amplifier located in the cabinet.
  8. Please turn off the projector by pressing the power button TWICE on the remote control.

 

Using the VCR / DVD Combo Player

  1. Lower the projection screen.
  2. Open the Video Cabinet.
  3. Point the Epson remote control towards the video/data projector. Press and hold down the power button for 2 seconds to turn on the projector.
  4. Press the VIDEO 1/2 button on the remote control until the word VIDEO is visible on the screen.
  5. Point the VCR/DVD remote control towards the player and press the POWER switch to turn on the VCR/DVD player. Make sure the TV/DVD-VIDEO switch on the remote is set to DVD-VIDEO.
  6. Ensure that the A/B switch box is in the "A" position (VCR/DVD).

 

Playing a Videotape

  1. To playback a videotape, press the SELECT VIDEO button to control the VCR.
  2. Press the INPUT SELECT switch on the remote control until L1 appears on the VCR/DVD's LED control panel window.
  3. Place the videotape slowly into the VCR (VCR will start playing the tape automatically). If closed-captioned programming is desired, make sure the closed-captioned decoder box is turned on , otherwise, make sure the decoder box is turned off.
  4. Adjust the volume control located on the amplifier.
  5. Before leaving the classroom please turn off the video/data projector. The power button must be pressed 2 times to turn off the projector.

 

Playing a DVD

  1. To playback a DVD, press the SELECT DVD on the VCR/DVD remote control button to control the DVD.
  2. Press the INPUT SELECT switch on the remote control until L1 appears on the VCR/DVD's LED control panel window.
  3. Push the EJECT button on the remote or on the VCR/DVD player.
  4. Insert the disc into the tray.
  5. Press the PLAY button (the tray will close and start playing the disk automatically). If closed-captioned programming is desired, make sure the closed-captioned decoder box is turned on, otherwise, make sure the decoder box is turned off.
  6. Adjust the volume control located on the amplifier.
  7. Before leaving the classroom please turn off the video/data projector. The power button must be pressed 2 times to turn off the projector.

 

 

 Using the VCR/DVD for campus cable (IPTV) broadcast

  1. Lower the projection screen.
  2. Using the Epson remote control, press and hold down the POWER button (located under the cover) for 2 seconds to turn on the projector.
  3. Press the VIDEO 1/2 button on the remote control until the word VIDEO is visible on the screen.
  4. Point the VCR remote control towards the VCR (located in the cabinet) and press the POWER switch to turn on the VCR.
  5. Press the Input button on the remote control until a channel number appears on the projection screen. If closed-captioned programming is desired, make sure the closed-captioned decoder box is turned on, otherwise, make sure the decoder box is turned off.
  6. Ensure that the A/B switch (located in the cabinet) is set to the "A" position.
  7. Adjust to the desired channel number using the remote control.
  8. Adjust the volume controls on the amplifier.
  9. Please turn off the projector by pressing the power button TWICE on the Epson remote control.

 

 

 

 

 

Closed Captioning  

  1. To display Closed Caption text on screen, turn knob to CC1.
  2. Before leaving the classroom please turn OFF Closed Caption.

  

 

  

Using an external device

(document camera, camcorder, etc.)

  1. Using the EPSON remote control, press and hold down the power button for 2 seconds to turn on the projector.
  2. Press the COMP 1/2 button (Document Camera) or VIDEO 1/2 button (video device) on the remote control.
  3. Plug the power cord from the video device into the AC Plug located on the top right side of the podium.
  4. Connect the video and audio (if applicable) cable(s) from the external device into the inputs located on the top right side of the podium near the VGA monitor cable.
  5. Ensure that the A/B switch box is in the "B" position (AUX).
  6. Point the VCR/DVD remote control towards the player and press the POWER switch to turn on the VCR/DVD player. Make sure the TV/DVD-VIDEO switch on the remote is set to DVD-VIDEO.
  7. Press the INPUT SELECT switch on the remote control until L1 appears on the VCR/DVD's LED control panel window.
  8. If required, adjust the volume controls on the amplifier.
  9. Before leaving the classroom please turn off the video/data projector. The POWER button must be pressed 2 times to turn off the projector.
